Frequently Asked Questions
How can I march?
Clock up your steps each day however it suits you. Whether you’re keeping up your normal exercise routine or trying to get more active, make up your 11,000 steps a day your way. From deciding to walk on your commute, heading outside with friends and family or getting your steps in around the house - you decide how to hit your target. Please make sure you follow all government guidelines and stay safe.
Who can take part?
Anyone and everyone who can walk everyday. Get involved on your own, as a family or team of friends. It’s also a great challenge to take on with colleagues... Nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry. Get in your steps whichever way you choose over the course of the month.
Can we take part as a team?
Yes – one team, one dream! All you need to do is select the team option when you sign up and it will guide you through the process of creating a team or joining an existing one. If you sign up with a team and want to march together, please make sure you follow all government guidelines and stay safe.
What’s the best way to track my steps?
This challenge is all about keeping active, so we trust you to be hitting your step goal each day. Whether using an app on your phone, a pedometer or a fitness watch, you can record your daily step total each day on your JustGiving page. This means you can share your daily total publicly and keep a record of your total steps during the month.
How can I fundraise?
There’s loads of great ways to fundraise. Sign up and we'll send you top tips to make your challenge a success, and help you every step of the way.
How much does it cost?
It’s free to sign up and take part. As for fundraising, we're suggesting that you raise a minimum of £200 - but you can aim higher to make an even bigger difference.
I want to wear a Prostate Cancer UK top whilst I take part, where can I get one?
We’ll give you a free branded walking top when you hit the £300 fundraising mark – and if you absolutely smash it and reach £500 in sponsorship, we'll send you one of our warming hoodies too. Or you can kit yourself out at our online shop.
How can I see what other people are doing?
We’ll be sharing updates regularly for inspiration throughout your challenge, and so will your fellow challengers. Join our Facebook group of inspiring marchers and see what they're doing to get in their steps each day. You’ll also be able to keep your eye on those hitting their goals on the leaderboard to keep you motivated. Don’t forget to post your #MarchtheMonth snaps on social media too - we can’t wait to see how you get on.
Why should I self-donate?
Fundraisers who donate to their own page raise on average 42 percent more! Dipping into your wallet and donating to your own page isn’t cheating – it’s the best way to reach your fundraising target. Your friends and family will soon follow suit…
