Taking on March the Month? We're here to help. Check out our ideas, hints, tips and downloads to help you smash the challenge:

1. Get a plan in place early Organise when you’re going to get your steps in and think about your goal - do you plan to get up early for a morning walk, make plans over lunch or finish the day with a walk to boost your total? Over the weekends why not let your friends and family know they can join you for a walk and get involved. Please make sure you follow all government guidelines and stay safe.

2. Set up your online fundraising page Make your page stand out. Once you've created your page follow our guide to add a picture and update your story to let everyone know why you’re taking on March the Month.

3. Spread the word Your friends and family will be so proud of you for taking on this challenge, as long as they know it's happening... Create a poster to share on your social media pages, wear one of our branded tops to spread awareness and keep everyone updated throughout the challenge - you’re doing something incredible! Local papers are always looking for a great story, so let them know what you’re up to by using our template press release.

4. Kickstart your fundraising Self-donate to your own page to get the pounds rolling in. Dipping into your wallet and donating to yourself isn’t cheating – it’s the best way to reach your fundraising target. Fundraisers who donate to their own page raise on average 42 per cent more! Your friends and family will soon follow suit. You can also download a sponsorship form to keep track of any offline donations.

5. Ask the boss! Find out if your employer offers matched giving or would like to give a donation. Remember to add your donation page link to your email signature and see if you can publicise your story on your intranet to help generate sponsorship.

6. Thank your sponsors It’s up to you how you want to do this, some people send emails, some send cards. Whatever you feel is appropriate, make sure you take the time to thank the people that donated to your cause.
