Just to say I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer, August 2025 would have been 6 years. The unfortunate thing is someone from my church died from prostrate cancer just before my diagnosis so this was my cue to get tested. Once I had the PSA result all I was thinking about was death and worry. I saw the Urologist who suggested active surveillance, which means PSA blood test every three months. Biopsy and MRI scan was done during the 5 year period due to some concerns. The at the beginning of 2024 my PSA began to increase for three consecutive PSA test, which was 3 months between each test. As there were concern the cancer was increasing and may spread, I was advised to have radical prostatectomy in October 2024. PSA result is now 0 after surgery. Thanks to prostrate cancer UK for your advice when I had to contact you. I was able to have conversations with many men who had survived after different treatments that had been offered. I am more than happy to advice or support anyone who has recently been diagnosed.
